If you’ve lost a loved one, the grief around the holidays can be overwhelming. Remember your loved one and find encouragement at Remembrance and Hope, a night to light a candle and carry forward with the process of healing and restoration here at Christ Community Chapel on Sun., Dec. 16 at 3 p.m.
When your life has been shaken by the death of someone you love, you may experience unfamiliar emotions: sleeplessness, bitterness, relief, loss of joy, and more. “We want to make sure people have a place to grieve,” said Lori McMillen, Wedding & Funeral Coordinator of Care Ministry at Christ Community Chapel. “And beyond that, we want them to know we’re standing by to support them on the complicated road to hope and healing.”
Here at Christ Community Chapel, we offer clinical counseling, support groups, and classes to help people mourn and find hope for broken hearts due to losses of all kinds. “Sometimes you wonder if grief will break you, if it will ever end, or if you will ever feel normal again,” explains Joe Coffey, lead pastor at CCC. “We want to be sure people in our community know they don’t have to grieve alone. God sees you and longs to go through it with you, and so do we.”
In addition to lighting a candle in remembrance, there will be music, an encouraging message from a CCC pastor, and a sharing of your loved one’s photo. All are welcome to participate, whether you attend CCC or not. Please register in advance for this free event by Dec. 10.
