When his original students, the disciples, asked him how to pray, he said “Pray like this: ‘Our father, who art in Heaven… thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth, as it is in Heaven.’” If you are a student and follower of Jesus, God is your father who has a will and a kingdom. This year, our church-wide vision is to pray vigilantly and work diligently to bring this prayer to fruition; to bring our father’s will and kingdom here to earth.
Going on a mission trip is perhaps one of the most eye-opening experiences you can have. You’ll get to meet and interact with others from various cultures, some living only an hour away.
So is 2017 finally the year you say yes? Don’t miss the amazing trips we have planned and find out how you can impact the world, both locally and globally next year.
In order to pass the torch to the younger generation, we’ve embarked on a mission to update our building physically, enable baby boomers to share their vast wisdom and mentorship to the next generation and empower young adults to invest here through serving and giving.
The latest project in this process is the renovation of the Block. It’s much more than just updates to a building: we’re building a place where students can come to hang out with friends and learn about Jesus and for people in our community to come to receive pastoral counseling and care through support groups, workshops and more.
In addition to moving the Student Ministries and Care Support offices to the Block from the main campus, we’ll add a coffee shop, worship and concert space, a basketball court, tons of hang out space and offices to provide the privacy you’d expect in a counseling setting. Our goal is to make the Block a place that serves our community and a safe place for kids that transforms the next generation.
While we know this can only be done by introducing them to Jesus, we think the changes will provide a vehicle to help us do just that.
