We are all trying to navigate this unusual season of COVID-19. Whether it’s from a spiritual perspective finding out how to stay close with God, on a community level trying to find ways to connect with each other and help those around us, or practically figuring out what to do with our kids and how to protect our families.
Life is certainly different, and yet our call to love God and love others has not changed. That’s why we are launching Scattered Together—an initiative to provide you with the content and encouragement you need while we are not gathering in person. Our goal is to keep you posted on how we’re caring for the local community, give you guidance on how to love God and each other at this time, and keep us feeling connected while we have to be apart. We’ll do this by sending a weekly email and through daily posts in a new Facebook group we just created—more details on that below!
Connect with God, us, and each other during the week
Join us at the Scattered Together Facebook Group we’ve created that will help you stay close with God and each other as we spend time apart during the coronavirus outbreak. On Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays we’ll share a devotional you can use in your quiet time with God in the morning and a call for us to all pray together in the evening. Tuesdays and Thursdays will be our time to connect with each other through prayer requests, stories, and even some fun surprises! Plus, for those with children, on Fridays we’ll share content you can use with your whole family!
Read the Devotional
Not on Facebook? We’ll be sharing all the same content we’re posting in the Facebook group on our blog, so if you’re not on social media, you can still stay connected!
Serve Your Neighbors
In the midst of this crisis, there are lots of ways you can safely help your neighbors in need: grocery pick-ups, running errands, yard work, prayer, phone calls, etc. Not sure who to serve? We know of many people who need a little extra help right now. Sign up below to let us know if you’re willing to help out!
Community in the Psalms
There are two things we always need, and now more than ever: Jesus and each other. That’s why we are starting Community in the Psalms—a weekly 60-minute virtual gathering where we will read, discuss, and pray a different Psalm together over the course of six weeks. Join us on Tuesday evening or Thursday afternoon.
Book of the Month
In the midst of these confusing times, it’s extremely helpful to ground yourself in the truth, logic, and reason of your faith. That’s why this month we recommend you check out the book Prodigal God by Tim Keller. Through it, Keller uses his renowned intellectual approach to look at Luke 15 and the famous story of the Prodigal Son to reveal the essential message of Jesus that will help you understand God’s grace and love in a whole new way.
