Which aspect of Christ Community Chapel’s culture resonates with you the most? (know, grow, serve)
As someone who was blessed to grow up in the Church, the grow aspect resonates the most with me. As I have continued to walk with God throughout my life, I have continually learned new things about him and his character. I have learned what it means to be a Christ follower at each stage of my life.
What is something no one would ever believe to be true about you?
I love sports but know nothing about the NBA. I have quickly realized that I have to learn about the NBA, or at least the Cavaliers, to keep up with the talk in the office.
In what ways are you a leader? In what ways are you a follower?
I am a defender of justice. In that sense, I am a leader. When I notice something unjust, I will take steps to change it. I am a follower in that I am always wanting to learn about others. I will follow the lead of what they tell me about themselves and try to ask questions that will help me learn more about them and how to serve them best.
If you could master one skill you don’t have right now, what would it be?
I would enjoy reading! I love learning but am dyslexic, so reading can be a challenge for me. I continue to read and am slowly learning how to enjoy it, but I wish I could snap my fingers and learn to love it.
What are you doing when you feel most like yourself?
I am either at an MLB game, preferably KC Royals, at the zoo or with students. I grew up going to baseball games with my extended family, and these memories are some that I hold most dear to my heart. I also love a relaxed trip to the zoo where you bring your lunch and can observe the animals. It’s fun to see all these animals that God made. I also enjoy spending time with middle school students. They help bring out my silly side and remind me that life is not as serious as I often try to make it.
